Who We Are: 

Dixie Precision Inc. is a privately owned company in the heart of North Birmingham. Alabama

In 1982 John Oliver and Wayne Deshazo bought  Dixie  Machine  and merged it with Precision Die Service and reincorporated as Dixie Precision Inc.  In February 1997 Dixie Precision Inc. purchaced Southern Roll and Machine.  In June of 1997 Wayne DeShazo passed away.  

Our machine shop which folks often call Dixie Machine has provided Birmingham, Alabama  and the entire United States with precision machine work since the 1960s. We are nationally known for the precision machining of large shafts , fan shafts, hubs, screws, and sleeves.  In 1992 Mike Tittle joined Dixie Precision and continues to facilitate machine shop production.

Our Roll shop which is often call Southern Roll and Urethane has also proviced industry with rubber rollers and urethane products since the early 1960s.  Jeff Alldredge joined Dixie Precsion in 1997 and now serves as the Rubber roller production faciltiatior.  Steel mills across Alabama have depended on Dixie Precision to provide quality rubber rollers and quick turn around service on regrinding services and rubber  roller repairs.

Dixie Precision is located just  a few blocks off of I-65 and less than 3 miles to the junctions of I-59/I-20.  Our location provides convenient access to Jackson Mississippi,   Nashville, Tennessee,  Huntsville, Alabama.  Mobile, Alabama, Montgomery, Al. Columbus, Mi, Shreveport, Louisiana, Atlanta Georgia. Pensacola, Florida. Memphis, Tn.  We not only serve the South East, but have shipped all over the United States,  and Canada.

John and Laura Oliver have been married 31 years and for the last 30 years have worked together at Dixie Precision full time. They are  followers of Jesus Christ.   John and Laura  have three sons.  Their oldest son, a West Point graduate  recenlty returned form Iraq.  Their middle son plays college baseball  and will attend medical school this summer.  The youngest  throws Javelin and is a freshman in college.
